Osmosis 2.0: Dialing Down the Token Inflation
In the vast cosmos of the crypto-universe, one major DEX player, Osmosis, is turning the inflation dial back.
The largest DEX in the Cosmos ecosystem, known for its slick tokenomics, has announced an update, OSMO 2.0, that cuts token inflation by 50%!!
After a democratic community governance vote, this significant cut signals a transition from the platform’s initial token distribution phase. The goal? Long-term sustainability of OSMO tokens.
We love some good housekeeping!
OSMO 2.0 doesn’t stop at inflation, though. The team has announced that they’re flirting with a protocol revenue burn mechanism, which could lead to a net deflationary model.
Moreover, fee switches for liquidity pools are in discussion. What’s the bottom line? OSMO stakers might soon be directly cut from the swap fees generated in the Osmosis liquidity pools.
Share the wealth, right?

Amazon Web Services in the Election Spotlight
The crypto world isn’t the only one seeing plot twists this week. Over in the world of politics, the Presidential election petition tribunal takes a surprising turn.
Peter Obi and the Labour Party legal team presented a tech engineer from Amazon Web Services, INEC’s server host, as a witness.
This move comes after INEC’s questionable decision to shut down their Presidential Portal for uploading results on election day.
Why is this relevant? The controversy surrounding this event led to a dent in INEC’s image, which could have significant implications. The INEC Chairman stated that all elections would be uploaded in real-time on the IREV portal. However, blurred results and possible hacker interference have thrown doubt into this narrative.
The case, which has sent shockwaves through the respondents’ team, has been adjourned until June 20th for cross-examination.
